Operation, Installation and Maintenance of the
80 H.P. Pobjoy "R" Type Aero-Engine

D.R. Pobjoy established Pobjoy Airmotors after working with Roy Fedden at the Cosmos Engineering Company. The company started in Surrey, but later moved to Hooten and Kent. Its first engine, the Pobjoy "P" was approved in 1928. Perhaps the best known was the Pobjoy Type "R", which powered the Cierva/Comper C-25 Autogiro, Comper C.L.A. Swift, Currie Super Wot, General Aircraft Monospar ST-4 and -6, Kay 33/1 Gyroplane, Miles M.1 Satyr, and Short S.16 Scion. Later Pobjoy engines included the Niagara and Cataract.

This maintenance manual includes specifications, description, running notes, troubleshooting guides, installation instructions, maintenance schedule, top overhaul instructions, and a few supplementary instructions (what today we would call service bulletins)
