Pratt & Whitney Wasp and Twin Wasp
Operating and Service Instructions
![]() |
From
its introduction in 1926, the Pratt & Whitney "Wasp" line of engines set new
standards for performance and dependability. The single-row "Wasp" series began
with the R-1340, a 9-cylinder radial with a bore of and stroke of 5 3/4". The
R-985 ("Wasp Junior"), with a bore and stroke of 5 3/16", filled the need for an
engine with less horsepower. The R-1830 "Twin Wasp" was a two-row engine of 14 cylinders, each having a bore and stroke of 5 1/2". The R-1535 "Twin Wasp Junior" was also a two-row engine of 14 cylinders, but its bore and stroke was 5 3/16". This CD-ROM is a representative assortment of four Operating Instructions and two Service instructions covering the "Wasp" and "Twin Wasp" series of engines. |
